City Travel Guide - Saskatoon
Saskatoon Skyline at night along South Saskatchwan River Broadway Bridge in Saskatoon Riverbank park in downtown Saskatoon

"Saskatoon is Saskatchewan’s largest city and is located on the beautiful South Saskatchewan River, and known as the "The Paris of the Prairies" for its many bridges."

Saskatoon Tourism

Saskatoon has over 400 acres of riverbank trails and parks to explore and is within a short driving distance to an actual boreal forest. Visitors from far and wide delight in the city's beautiful parkland setting. Inviting natural riverbank parks and trails make jogging, biking and casual hikes easy and relaxing, invigorating and refreshing right in the heart of the city .

Crossing the gorgeous Broadway Bridge into downtown, the city lights reflected into the river, is a lovely sight. A visit downtown usually begins on Broadway Street, where not only can you shop till you drop, and partake of a wide variety of restaurants and cafes, but you can experience the history of Saskatoon, right before your eyes. Many of the buildings on this street date back to the city's earliest days. A particular highlight is the newly-restored Broadway Theatre, offering the best in independent theatre and film.

Summer is when Saskatoon comes alive. The Saskatchewan Jazz Festival fills the city with warm sounds, and cool grooves, as world-famous performers light up stages all over the city. The Bard himself makes an appearance for Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan, a month long series of performances in a magical setting on the riverside. Add this to the Canada Day celebrations, and the Saskatoon Exhibition, and you have a flawless recipe for summer fun!
